(1) Does not occur in word-initial or word-final positions.
(2) It is pronounced [k] before consonants and the vowels a, ă, â, o, u.
(3) It is pronounced [k’] in the letter-groups che, chi (like k in kelp or like k in keep).
(4) It is pronounced [t∫] in the letter-groups ce, ci (like ch in channel).
(5) It is pronounced [g] before consonants and the vowels a, ă, â, o, u, also in final position.
(6) It is pronounced [g’] in the letter-groups ghe, ghi (like g in guest or like g in gilt).
(7) It is pronounced [dʒ] in the letter-groups ge, gi.
(8) Mainly used in foreign loan-words along with Q (chiu) and W (dublu ve, dublu vî).
